ParticipantDear colleagues,
From hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, we would like to propose you a new observational study. Pancreatic cancer is a well-known cause of left side portal hypertension, due to splenic thrombosis but also for extrinsic compression. In this group of patients, gastric varices are frequently observed, but real incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding is not known; its management, as well as thrombosis or stenosis treatment, have not been well stablished. Our population, subject of study, are patients with pancreatic cancer locally advance or borderline, who have developed left sided portal hypertension. The aim of the study is to describe the incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding and establish the best management.
You can find the protocol and our ethical committee approval at the VALDIG website.
If you are interested in participating, do no to hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for considering our request,
Macarena Simón-Talero
